Last week, the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Adm. Awwal Gambo, announced the recruiting as part of his intentions to provide the necessary people for the naval operations, according to Commodore Adedotun Ayo-Vaughan, spokesman for the Nigerian Navy.
In order to increase its human resources on an annual basis, the Nigerian Navy has made recruiting and engagement of men and women a key priority.
To prevent those with a history of incarceration and those with questionable moral character from joining the navy, the recruitment process was meticulously managed.

The Nigerian Navy has made it mandatory that all applicants must be of a Nigerian Nationality. The next phase of the recruitment will be an aptitude test that shortlisted candidates must sit for. Candidates will appear for interview at the screening venue Nigerian Navy Secondary School Ojo, Lagos.

How will the Nigerian Navy interview be like?
All candidate will undergo a compulsory screening of which their credentials or certificates and all documents will be screened carefully.
After undergoing the screening, you will still be subjected to a medical test and also an exam. All this types of screening we just mentioned comes in stages and you must exercise extreme patience.
Items to come with on the day of your screening are:
- Originals and photocopies of their credentials.
- Originals and photocopies of valid Drivers’ License (Category H only).
- Writing materials.
- Two pairs of navy blue shorts and 2 white (unmarked) T-Shirts.
- A pair of canvas/trainer and stockings.
- Bedsheets and pillowcases.
- Set of cutlery.
- Four (4) recent 30X30 passport sized photographs on white background.

- the Nigerian Navy are going interview all candidate on individual basis, so you guys need to prepare for this and also make sure you fulfill the eligibility criteria so as not to get disqualified at any stage.
